This method is done by taking an object, such as the rubber pig below, or a wax carving and making a rubber mold from the rubber or wax object, then putting the wax into a metal container and pouring a plaster substance around the wax wait for the plaster to harden, then put the plaster mold into a kiln and melt the wax away then pour the metal, (Gold, silver or Platinum) into the plaster mold and from there you get a metal piece that will be polished.

Our customer brought in a pink rubber pig and wanted him made into 14k yellow and 14k pink gold pigs. The picture shows the original rubber pig, the wax pig and then the 14k yellow gold pig with yellow diamond eyes and the pink gold pig with pink diamond eyes.

Step 1: Sketch a ring and see how it developes
Step 2: The jewelers wax is hand carved and the diamonds are set into the wax to make sure the dimensions are accurate.
